The Captain is back!

Good News! Captain Kacela 3 is finished and currently in the process of being printed!
Should debut  at the "East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention" in Philadelphia May 19th at 46th and market street at the Enterprise center. Free Sketch card for any one buying a book at the con.

Whats going on?!?!

Well i've been busy, school year is almost over only a few months left. Convention season is starting. in May for me. and issue 3 should be done and ready to premiere. working on some secret clothing projects. alot of unfinished projects. hopefully you'll see alot more art from me in the coming year, including a few stories. i'll be back in a few hours and post some new art.

Hey almost 2 in one day! Figured I'd post this up planing on doing a lot more illustration and random sketching and drawing. did this re imagine of marvels Iron Fist.

one is a 5 min sketch the other 15 min.

i did this for the January (i think) Xion challenge of redesigning a character. one of the dew monthly challenges i'll be trying to keep up with

and just for fun, a recent illustration for a coloring book for a school and cutey honey from like oh 7 thought it still looked nice so I added it.

So the convention season is beginning, I'm really hoping to get into selling more art at conventions. As such I plan on printing up some new things, new books new art, new comics. Hopefully marvel won't sue me for what ever I make on avengers posters I draw.

Hey hey hey. Getting some things done still trying to press out Capt.Kacela 3 by May.
I've also been doing a lot of art to prepare for personal art book. Not sure if i want to do one for fine art, pin ups or pop/fan art. maybe one at a time.
I am also planing a captain Kacela sketch book. most people don't see all the sketches that go into the three books done so far; character designs, ship designs, building designs worlds and universes.
i also need to do a better job of updating this blog with art. so to that end

Progress

Hey folks. SO after some talk about Kacelas outfit I've decided just to up her target age. I still think shes a good role model and I don't think her costume is that bad, but I think that by raising her age I can talk about different things including why her costume is different as well as things young women should or shouldn't do. In that vain any info opinions and truths about being a young woman that female out there want to pass along let me know.

I have to apologize to one specific fan, who is still waiting for a poster. trust that when it comes it will also have some free art and what ever else I can throw in there.

Whats good people! Just wanted to ask people who have purchased Kacela and liked it to help a brother out and tell a friend. Even if its one person and they don't buy it the positive word of mouth is important and the difference between more things like kacela and less things of a far less positive nature. Also to pose a question for anyone who wants to answer:

Is Captain Kacela too provocatively dressed for girls aged 7-12 and why or why not?

Jambo! Just updating those who wonder. Captain Kacela Universal Ranger issue 3 is about 75 percent done. Some setbacks this summer but no worries the work continues. Infact here is the cover of issue 3.

Back to school next week. Been a great summer spending time with my young man and working on art. Looking forward to getting back into a a good routine. one of the reasons I created kacela was to combat the tons and tons of negativity black women have to endure in pop media and news around the world. here is an example i found online.

A new week, wish the weekend was longer because Saturdays ECBACC was awesome.

Didn't get to print and sell any artmada books yet, and book three of Captain Kacela didn't make it by ECBACC, so I'm working hard to get it ready for Wizard World this June.

Friday March 4th at 7:43 pm the greatest thing so far in my life happened. My son Lutalo was born. Hes still in NICU but i can't express the awesome feeling of joy and fear and love that hit me all at once when he was born. Its like a new star being born just pure energy.

I know i've been absent from this blog for a while. Going to try to get back updated. Look for the Artmada artbook this summer date got pushed back should drop end of April.
